The fire resistance can last for several hours.The company’s technology solves problems that have not been covered by any existing solutions. In addition, the ventilation through fire separators becomes easier and far cheaper than before, due to easy installation and no maintance cost.

The FB technology can be used in many different products and application areas. Based on the patented FireBreather™ technology, solutions for fireproof ventilation in buildings, ships, offshore installations, industry, etcetera can be customized.
The following principles are combined in FireBreather technology:
• Flame arrester element
• Heat-absorbing element
• Heat accumulating element
• Thermal fracture
• Graphite-based product that expands and closes the ventilation gap when exposed to heat.
The result of the patented technology is achieved by combining these known principles to prevent fire spread. These principles will not work satisfactorily alone, but when combined, they work instantaneously and up to several hours.
The unique features of the products are the combination of a flame retardant element that operates from the first millisecond of the flame, a combination of heat-absorbing and heat-accumulating elements that extend the flame retardant effect to five minutes, a thermal break that prevents the and non-flammable graphite base material which, within minutes, completely closes the product to spread fire. The combination of principles means that the products do not allow the fire to spread immediately.
Approvals / Tests:
Tests conducted by SINTEF Building Research(now RISE Fire Research) at the ResQ Safety Center in Haugesund, at Warrington Fire in England show that products based on Firebreather™ technology are the best tested to prevent fire from spreading through grilles and barriers.
